This garden was for a family in an old Victorian home. They struggled with tough weeds like spear grass and the garden lacked any real defining beauty. We top worked and grafted an old ornamental cherry tree to become a fruit producing tree. We also established a beneficial understory meadow planting for an established Gary Oak (a host tree for nearly 140 native butterfly and moth species). The edges of the yard were filled with many natives and edibles for the family to enjoy. They quickly established into beneficial habitat for local faunas to enjoy.
