Disclaimer: It’s been a very busy season for landscaping companies. We may not be able to schedule work within the timeframe that you need. The soonest design/install consultation is about 2-3 months out. Cleanup/maintenance consultation is about 1-2 months out. Thank you for your patience and understanding! A tip to avoid this – start talking to us early! A lot of prep work (such as design, weeding, pruning, mulching, hardscaping) can be done any time of the year.

How far is your service area?
We generally don’t travel further than a 30 minute drive from our headquarter, 3454 SE Powell Blvd, Portland, OR. However, we can make exceptions for large projects, or if the client is willing to cover our traveling expense.
What are all the stages of a project?
Most of our projects take place in 3 stages: Consultation, Design, Installation.
At the consultation, our lead designer will walk through your property with you, assess the conditions of the land, understand your needs/goals, and help you visualize what’s possible. After that, we will be able to tell you how much the design will cost.
During the design, our team of designers will develop your vision further, layout the elements of your backyard ecosystem, and create a detailed installation plan. We will work with you to find the best materials and methods within your budget constraints. Depending on the project, your final design document can include architectural drawings/plans, plants attributes/benefits, ecosystem functions and how you can interact with them, and more. It will also include an exact cost estimate, if you choose to hire us to install the design. You can of course hire someone else, or do it yourself.
How much does a consultation cost?
For a typical single-family lot, we charge $50 for a consultation about maintenance/clean-up and $99 for a consultation about design/installation. This fee will be credited to your total project cost later, if you choose to hire us.
How much does the actual project cost usually?
Most landscaping companies will charge you $5,000 to $35,000 for 1,000 square feet of yard depending on the complexity of the project. Our pricing is often on the lower end. We usually need to do an on-site consultation before we can give out an exact cost estimate. This is because there are many factors that can affect cost that we won’t be able to assess until we see your property and know its history.
Is there a minimum fee for design, installation, or one-time clean-up projects?
Yes, we have a $1350 minimum fee for design, installation, or one-time clean-up projects. We have minimums because almost all of our projects are more than the minimum. We also would like to leave the smaller jobs to smaller landscape companies that only have 1-2 workers.
How much does year-round maintenance cost?
For year-round maintenance, our minimum is $190 per month. That includes 2 visits per month, where each visit is about 30 minute. We usually need to do an on-site consultation before we can give out an exact cost estimate. This is because there are many factors that can affect cost that we won’t be able to assess until we see your property and know its history.
With year-round maintenance, will my landscape look tidy / clean / professional?
The short answer is yes, if given proper maintenance and sufficient time / budget. However, we recommend you read the long answer here, because our ecological maintenance can be very different from conventional maintenance that many people are used to.
How soon can the consultation or the actual project start?
Please see the disclaimer above about our consultation availabilities. After consultation, actual project start time can vary a lot. First, we will have to wait for you to sign the contract and make your first payment before we can move forward. Then, depending on the complexity of the project, the availability of plants/materials, and how many projects we have in front of you, the work can start anywhere from 1-2 weeks to several months after the contract is signed. For example, certain plants can only be planted in certain seasons, and certain materials may be in a shortage due to supply chain issues.
We offer many types of donation – plants, supplies, money, landscaping services, spaces, collaboration, joint events, etc. Please send all donation requests to . We get a lot of requests, so it may take a while for us to get back to you. Thank you for your patience.
